Hillburn, NY – This past Saturday, August 17th, Yan Garcia, a Hillburn-based soccer coach and ENL (English as a New Language) teacher, held a successful soccer clinic for community children as part of the Shining Lights Helping Hands Back-to-School event. The event, organized by Shining Lights Helping Hands, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources for families in the community, aimed to equip children and families with tools and support as they prepare for the new school year.

The soccer clinic, led by Yan Garcia, saw a great turnout of local children eager to participate in the fun and educational session. The clinic allowed kids to develop their soccer skills, learn teamwork, and physically engage in a supportive environment.

“It was a fantastic experience to work with the children in Hillburn and Suffern,” said Yan Garcia. “Seeing their enthusiasm and improvement throughout the clinic was incredibly rewarding. I’m passionate about using soccer to unite the community and help our youth develop important life skills.”

The event was well-received by both participants and parents, who praised the quality of the clinic and the positive impact it had on their children. The event’s success has inspired Yan Garcia to continue offering more soccer programs and clinics for the children of Hillburn and Suffern shortly.

In addition to his work as a soccer coach, Yan Garcia is also focused on providing English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for adults in the community. “I believe in empowering our youth and adults in the community by providing them with the skills they need to succeed. I’m currently working on establishing ESL classes to help non-English-speaking adults improve their language skills, which will, in turn, benefit their families and the broader community,” added Garcia.

Shining Lights Helping Hands expressed gratitude for Yan Garcia’s contribution to the event. They highlighted the importance of community-driven initiatives in fostering a stronger, more connected community.
